The Battle of Khotyn in 1621 is one of the most important events of the 17th century. The Turkish Empire, led by Sultan Osman II, sought to capture Ukraine, Poland and Western Europe in order to possess the main part of Europe and prove its invincibility. As a result of the war, the Turkish-Tatar army lost, and was forced to retreat and sign the Peace of Khotyn.
Active military operations lasted from 2nd to 28th of September, 1621, but they resulted in high mortality among the military and the civilian population.
The main problems of the research-project:
1) Devastation and destruction of the surrounding regions by the military of both armies;
2) Kidnapping of the civilian population of Bukovyna, Podillia, Prykarpattia, Przemysl region;
3) Destruction of farms;
4) Lack of food and drinking water for the military;
