Jan Wachter, M.Sc.
About the person
Jan Wachter was born in Kaiserslautern. From 2016 to 2017, he completed a voluntary service programme in Krakow. From 2017–2024 he studied International Economics and European Studies as well as Slavic Studies at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the University of Leipzig with study visits to the Lomonosov State University in Moscow and the Masaryk University in Brno.
Since September 2024, he has been a research assistant in the department »Interdependence and Globalisation« at the GWZO with funding from the SFB 1199.
Work focus
- Economic history of East Central Europe, in particular energy history
- Economic and fiscal policy, in particular climate and energy policy
