M. Lib. Sc. Matthias Breckheimer, M.A.

Matthias Breckheimer was born in Bensberg/NRW. He completed his civil service in the Protestant parish of Neubrück and later studied Eastern European history, Slavic studies and German studies in Göttingen. From 1987 to1996, he was employed at the SuUB Göttingen. From 1990 to1994, he was the organiser of major cultural events and events series on and in East Central Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Georgia). He has been the library director at the GWZO since May 1996.

From 1998 to 2000 he completed his training as academic librarian [Wiss. Bib./Master of Library Sciences] at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
